About
Established in 2026

My name is Shane Summerfield and I grew up in Perth, but found myself drawn to the regional lifestyle, living in regional WA and beyond. Over the past 25 years, I’ve lived and worked in the Pilbara, Gascoyne, and Kimberley regions. My time in the Pilbara involved a previous career working as a tradesman, including working on mine sites, shiftwork and shutdowns. I’ve provided psychological support in towns such as Carnarvon, Broome, Derby, and Fitzroy Crossing and through telehealth delivering remote therapy to clients all across Australia.
My style is conversational and focused on working collaboratively. I am interested in helping you understand your whole self, as well as developing insight into your struggles. From there I draw from evidence-based approaches matched to your goals: including cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, psychodynamic therapy, schema therapy and trauma-informed practice. We’ll explore the interconnection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours and the role they play in your current life. Through delivering therapy remotely, my aim is to help you build capacity to move towards being who you want to be and live the life you want to live.

Approach to Remote Therapy
My approach is grounded in evidence-based therapies and therapy is viewed as a partnership. My aim is for each session to be tailored to your needs, not to follow a pre-determined structure. With an understanding of regional life, my approach is delivered from a place of compassion and respectful curiosity.
